LUCA Stands Firmly With Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna Against Baseless Attacks

Latinos United for Conservative Action (LUCA) is appalled by the baseless accusations made by Betty Cardenas of Bienvenido against Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna. These malicious attacks on her character are not only unfounded but also do not reflect the values or voices of the Latino community. Contrary to Bienvenido’s claims of being “dedicated to the advancement of the Hispanic community,” Cardenas is undermining a strong conservative leader with lies.

Congresswoman Luna is a rare political figure who consistently upholds her promises and fiercely represents conservative Latino values in Washington. The Latino community takes pride in her fearless leadership and dedication to the principles that matter most to us.

LUCA stands with Representative Luna against these attacks, and our founder, Tony Renteria, who has intimate knowledge of the situation, offers his response to set the record straight.

Statement from LUCA Founder, Chairman, Antonio “Tony” Renteria: 
Recently, I and many members of LUCA, were made aware of a correspondence between Betty Cardenas of Bienvenido and Trump Campaign Consultant, Susie Wiles, regarding sitting Congresswoman, Anna Paulina Luna of Florida. The fact that this interaction even took place is very concerning to me, especially since I have personal knowledge that every single accusation that Betty made in regard to Representative Anna Paulina Luna were completely false since I was at the event and knew the circumstances behind Rep. Luna being moved which had nothing to do with anything Betty said and was due more to reasons Betty herself created. Also, some of the statements Betty listed about Rep Luna’s status with TPUSA and PragerU were also greatly exaggerated. From my observations, it seemed obvious that Rep Luna never trusted Betty enough to confide in her about anything.  #Ducklivesmatter (this is me literally making fun of Betty’s wild duck statement).

All this aside, in my opinion, and you will discover in the opinion of many others in the latino community, if this were the only time Betty Cardenas  had made attacking and malicious accusations about an individual, then I could write this off as a rare occurrence, but this seems to be, again in my opinion, her modus operandi and the reason why LUCA refuses to work with Bienvenido or Betty, directly or indirectly. The rumors which she starts and the division she causes is commonplace for her and the trail of destruction she leaves behind has been enough that we are not the only organization that feels this way.  Most of us are volunteers and others, such as me, spend tens of thousands of dollars each year to promote conservative candidates and particularly, President Donald J. Trump. We are very disappointed in Betty Cardenas and her actions, and I can assure you, there are probably many other pieces of correspondence that attack different leaders and volunteers coming from the computers within Bienvenido. This is frustrating when the rest of us are trying to raise up conservatives while we watch Bienvenido tear down people within our movement.

I have no idea what if anything the campaign will do about this, but the idea that Betty Cardenas can make such callous and maliciously false accusations against a true patriot in Congress in Rep. Anna Paulina, whose only fault was trying to help Bienvenido to succeed is shocking and disappointing. We as an organization have publicly admonished Betty Cardenas and Bienvenido and solidly placed our support behind Rep Anna Paulina and are very proud of her accomplishments. I myself have donated to her campaign and stand firmly in her corner. 

I seriously doubt I will be the only person to speak against this nonsense, especially since several of us know Betty and are tired of her attacks, but I bet if you polled every  major conservative Latino organization, you would find that almost none of us want anything to do with Betty Cardenas or Bienvenido and we all have serious doubts about her character, I know this because I have received calls from most of them and they are all furious that Bienvenido has struck yet again. What they show you and act like publicly is not reflective of their true character behind the scenes. It is my hope that this campaign will keep this in mind when featuring them because I may be the only one willing to say this, but we cringe every time they are featured because we all know the truth.

What I can tell you is that her letter is being circulated by many people by the Democrat Party at a time when our country is in peril and we can’t afford division, but then again, that never stopped Betty  before so why should it now, but at the very minimum, we definitely should not be featuring an organization or individuals who are on record attacking one of our strongest conservative voices, Rep Anna paulina Luna, a Latina who is making a difference in Washington, publicly because whether anyone likes it or not, the optics are terrible and I for one do not want to see this campaign collapse even an inch because of the weight of the accusations contained in her letter against a LATINA woman.
